Ginny Gan


Born and raised in Singapore, Ginny began dance lessons at the Singapore Ballet Academy at the age of 11. Her enjoyment for ballet grew and she moved to Wellington, New Zealand at the age of 17 to begin full-time professional dance training with the New Zealand School of Dance.

Upon graduation in 2007, she returned to Singapore as a full-time dancer with the Singapore Dance Theatre. During her time with the company, she performed in lead roles including Odette in Swan Lake, Lilac Fairy in The Sleeping Beauty, Waltz Girl in Balanchine’s Serenade and Edwaard Liang’s As Above, So Below. She also danced with the La La La Human Steps in their 2008 world tour production Amjad.

She joined the Royal New Zealand Ballet in early 2011 and danced lead roles including Greg Horseman’s Verdi Variations, Aurora and Blue Fairy in The Sleeping Beauty and Andrew Simmons’s Of Days.

Ginny is also a RAD registered teacher and her teaching experiences include ballet coaching and teaching the RAD syllabus at the Singapore Ballet Academy, New Zealand School of Dance, Chilton Dance Centre, Chilton Ballet Academy, Oriental Dance Academy and Auckland Dance Academy.
