It is with great pleasure that SINGAPORE BALLET ACADEMY welcomes HAN KEE JUAN to the Academy as its Principal with effect from August 2016.

Singapore Ballet Academy is a place where Mr Han is most familiar, having conducted Masterclasses yearly for more than a decade. It is also the place where he spent his teenage years cultivating his love and passion for ballet. He was an outstanding student of mine and a recipient of the SBA Scholarship prior to his study at the Australian Ballet School (ABS). His talent and potential were evident even at a young age. I still have fond memories of him as a student performing in many SBA dance productions – in particular when he was my dancing partner on a month-long cultural tour around the Asian region in the late seventies.

Upon his graduation from the ABS, Mr Han began his extensive dance career in many well-known dance companies before embarking on a teaching profession. Thereafter, with dedication and expertise, Mr Han established himself as one of the most celebrated and respected teacher in the United States and the international dance scene.

Mr Han’s appointment at SBA reflects the Academy’s continuous commitment to promote the best ballet training in Singapore. It is our vision and goal to inspire and nurture students to achieve their artistic dreams to the highest level of excellence. Mr Han will bring with him a wealth of expertise to the management of the Academy as well as its dance education.

As we extend a warm welcome to Mr Han, we look forward to an exciting new phase of greater challenges, creativity and artistic development under his leadership.
