Training
We teach, we care.
As dance professionals and teachers, we care for our students’ progress. Our goal is to inspire our students and help them learn as much as they can as they grow from strength to strength. We create a classroom culture and environment where students get the best instruction and opportunity – thus helping them to grow both academically and personally.
Graded Classes
We teach classical ballet from Pre-Primary to Advanced levels using the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) Syllabus. Participation in the RAD Examinations is possible only through registered schools with RAD-certified teachers. New students will have to undergo an assessment by our teaching faculty for placement into a suitable level.
Find out more about each level, or read our FAQ. Ready to enrol? Contact our office to register for a placement class.
Youth Group
This programme is designed to provide outstanding students with intensive training on ballet techniques and skills. Students are required to attend weekly classes where they will be trained by the Principal or SBA faculty members. They will be given the opportunity to participate in exchange programmes, dance workshops and special performances. Fees are charged on an annual basis. Entry into the Youth Group programme is by recommendation only – teachers will put forward names for an audition conducted by the Principal.
Boys’ Training
The Boys’ Training programme starts at the Grade 2 level and is offered concurrently with our ballet technique classes. The class emphasis is on men’s technique and is taught by the Academy’s Principal, Mr Han Kee Juan. The classes help boys develop invaluable skills, like presentation and musicality, and stronger core muscles. Mr Han is a world-renowned teacher for male students and has trained many dancers who are now dancing in professional ballet companies.
